Mac is the owner of Mcilrath Insurance Agency, since 1978, an Independent Insurance Agency located on Route 51 in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. He is a 1973 graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of in Business Administration Degree. A frequent speaker, Mac has lectured for Point Park College, University of Pittsburgh, The Small Business Administration SCORE Program, Allegheny Community College and The Independent Insurance Agents of Pittsburgh. Active in Trade Organizations, Mr. Mcilrath has been the Chairman of Pittsburgh's I-Day. He is Past President of the Insurance Club of Pittsburgh in 1984, and Past President of The Independent Insurance Agents of Pittsburgh 1999 - 2001. On April 24, 2003 Mac was named "The 2003 Insurance Person of the Year" awarded by The Insurance Club of Pittsburgh. A very active Businessman in the local community, Mac was named by the Brentwood Baldwin Whitehall Chamber of Commerce "The 2002 Business Person of the Year".
